Double-Edged Standard – ROCnow.net

Double-Edged Standard

If Jeffrey Epstein’s victims were melanated teenagers, would he still be a criminal; a martyred predator at that?

The supposed moral and legal preponderance would be a resounding “b’tov course.”  The truth would be found in the historical evidence:

Item A:  Tawana Brawley, a 15-year old African American, accuses four blue Caucasian officials of a vile and predatory crime.  Thirty-five years later, the living perpetrators walk freely while the specimen kit-evidence of the crime remains stolen and her reputation as a child vilified.  Keep in mind that this crime was committed upon a teenager and nearly four decades later, she continues to be cast by the dominant society’s media as the villain.  She is melanated.

Item B:  The Central Park Five, young African American teenage boys, walking while Black in a park at night are accused and convicted of a violation upon a non-melanated woman.  No less than “Orange is the new Black” puts out a full-page advertisement in the dominant society’s media and these innocent young men are cast as villains and convicted perpetrators.

Years later, though vindicated through testing of deoxyribonucleaic acid and exonerated by the judiciary, these men never receive an apology or reparations from colt 45 or the mainstream press for the battery upon their liberty by the thin blue line and its domestic enabler, the court.

Item C:  Just last month, billions witnessed globally The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences rubber stamp a joke made at the expense of an African mother shirking responsibility for an insult they vetted as acceptable because it was just disrespecting a Black woman.  There were no insults about the GI Janes of Yemen, Palestine or Buckingham Palace. Why was that?

Item D: Black male, Black market, Black list, Black sheep, Blackest night, Darkest hour.  What is the theme being developed around Black because this tenorous hue vibrates throughout English?  Everyone who speaks this language can feel the relief and discomfort swirling around as some say, “I’m not Black, I’m White, Italian, Asian, Creole, More…(fill in the blank) so it’s ok as long as it’s not me.” Others conclude,  “in the black” makes it all ok because fiat, petrodollars are good.  You good.

I say look at the preponderance of items.  The evidence provides that the melanated must deny their melanation in this current system of red (blood), white (lies/death) and blue (weapons).  The Constitutional protections belong to the non-melanated, “talented” one-tenth of one percent controlling the seventy and one score percent of the global wealth.

The double-edged standard fails even as justice and melanin win.
