I heard these words, this title spoken, and had to reflect not only on the movies that I had seen my entire life, but also in the reality of being alive in these United States of America at this moment.
The average response time of law enforcement is usually around five minutes. A lot can happen in that span of time which is why you are the deterrent. Whether that protection exists because of an attack animal you own, your possession of a firearm or your personal understanding of how to maneuver a challenging situation through carefully honed mental skills and physical dexterity.
“It’s up to me if it’s going to be” and visa versa.
This is the land of Manifest Destiny, El Requerimiento, the Doctrine of Discovery, the “Divine” Right of Christian kings and princes to subjugate unbaptized and baptized heathens or Black people around the world. These are the spoken and unspoken rules of engagement in the English, Spanish, Portuguese and French language lands actively engaged in the Slavery Economy. Yes, it still exists and voraciously so. The laws of those countries and their supportive economies exist to oppress the eumelanated. Thankfully, that vision is drying out and dying.
